Borneo Orang Utan And Explorer Dayak Tribes
Borneo Orang utan Tou and, Explore Dayak Tribes
Duration: 08 Days/09 Nights
Grade: Easy to moderate
Starts/Ends: Jakarta or Bali
To visit the Dayak of Tapinbini and also the Dayak on Kinipan, takes about 6 hrs speed boat ride from Pangkalan Bun. (Pangkalan Bun is the main entrance gate to Orangutan), while Kinipan is another 7 hrs upriver from Tapinbini. Unfortunately they are more modern than before.
Therefore our recommendation is to visit the Dayak Malaris, north from Banjarmasin, the capital city of South Borneo. They are not really back-ward and traditional, but the modernzation really does not affect them too much. They are living in the small house made of wood and leaves for the roof, some even living in the small hut in the slash and burn field. They are all farmers, cultivating
the land near their compound.
